Types of Mounted Membership
Administrative Member
Must be 18 years of age and a member in good standing who attends monthly meetings and trainings and assists with other functions the units is involved in. An Administrative Member may participate in horsemanship training with the approval of the Volunteer Mounted Coordinator but may not deploy on horse.
Deployable Member
Must be 18 years of age and a member in good standing who attends monthly meetings and training. They have also completed the requirements to deploy on horse as described in the Horsemanship Standards section.
Professional Members
Are individuals who voluntarily contribute their professional services for the betterment of the Corporation. An example of this might be a Veterinarian, Ferrier or Computer Specialist.
Senior Member
Is a deployable member who has at least 100 hrs of mounted patrol hours and has passed the silver or gold buckle test as described in the Horsemanship section.
Associate Member
A full-time deputy who is a member of the team or a reserve deputy whose primary membership is in another reserve unit. An Associate Member denotes the status of sworn only. They will either be an Administrative Member or Deployable Member depending on whether or not they have passed the requirements to patrol on horseback.
Jr. Member
A member of the unit between the ages of 15 and 18 who can attend training and assist with public relations events. They must be going through the Explorer program.
